16 Weeks To Wealth Project
I had posted on wickedfire yesterday about my big marketing project, so I’ll fill everyone in on the project, background and my personal goals.
As I’ve mentioned on the blog before, ever since a young age, I’ve always wanted to have money. Growing up poor, it was always really sad to see my parents have to scrape, and live paycheck to paycheck in trying to keep up with bills and rent. I had always promised myself that when I was married and had a family that I wouldn’t live paycheck to paycheck like my parents did.
So, starting in October of last year, when my wife and I found out we were going to have a baby, it became even more evident that I needed to hustle, and find some way to earn a better living and at the same time, do something effectively that wouldn’t require me to be away from my family for 12hrs a day. I started initially just trying to find a way to monetize a blog I had, and over time I started to learn about SEO, PPC and a host of other methods of making money, mostly revolving around affiliate marketing.
It took up until about the last week of November to find what I really wanted – CPA marketing, interestingly enough, I had discovered everything on tylercruz.com due to a post on bluehat seo saying he was a lazy SOB and made affiliate marketing look bad. I knew when someone complained about someone making too much money or was ‘too lazy to be making money’ I knew I should do some further investigating. I was pretty inspired by reading how one guy had only been involved in PPC marketing for about 6 months, yet was generating over $100,000 in revenue per month. I figured it’d be best to try and copy what they were doing, or at least try to understand how they did it.
December I had made a whole $100.50 in income online from marketleverage, however knew that I needed to work a ton more to have any sort of success. In Janurary I tried starting PPC , and I think I also enrolled at PPC-Coach to try and learn more about it. I brought in approximately $1500 that month , which about half of was expenses & buying domains, it was a little taste of success but nothing much to write home about.
February was around $2500, with another half going to expenses, I had made some progress, but still hadn’t come close to hitting any of my goals. March rolled around, and I finished the month with $4285.50 in total income, much better, and not only had a $100 daily profit I had brought in $396 in one single day, I finally felt like I was headed somewhere. At the end of the month, I really started to analyze what I was doing right and wrong, and realized that PPC was taking up a good chunk of the money I had made, while my SEO ventures were doing much better.
In April I almost completely dumped PPC in an attempt to concentrate only on SEO ,which was significantly cheaper for me to do, and from the month prior, also more rewarding. The month of April, I brought in a total of $24,295.97 , my best day bringing in $2001, of which was 100% profit. I had finally achieved a level of success that I felt was appropriate with the level of work I had spent on everything. The months of June and July brought in similar incomes, however my net revenue did go down, as I started to back up those SEO campaigns with PPC bidding to boost revenues.
Unfortunately, from that point on , I started to get lazy, going from 8,10,12 and even 16 hours of work on some days to something more like 2 or 3 hour days. Most of the work I had done was site maintenance, and other daily upkeep tasks, rather than expanding and diversifying. I also invested a significant portion of my income (Well over $50,000) into a associate’s venture, as well as some real estate.
In August I got a pretty severe wakeup call, when Adwords banned me, and also had the majority of my sites de-indexed from Google due to them going after bizopp publishers as well as advertisers. My income suffered a drastic drop, as about 80%-90% of my income was from Google SEO , leaving me with a average daily profit of around $150/day.
Of course, $150/day is nothing to balk at , however only a few months ago, I was hoping to hit $4,000 per day in net revenue.
So, this brings me up to today , where I’m going to get back on the horse, go for the gold and surpass my best month of about $25,000 in income with a $100,000 consistent monthly revenue.
I am also planning on diversifying my income sources, up until September, I had never attempted anything outside of CPA leads with PPC and SEO.
These are my monthly goals at the end of the 16 weeks.
- $15,000 Per month in Facebook Income
- $15,000 Per month in CPS % E-Mall Income
- $10,000 Per Month in Adsense Income
- $5,000 Per Month in Profile Sales
- $40,000 Per Month in CPA SEO Income
- $15,000 In PPC Via Yahoo And Bing (And hopefully somehow get Adsense back up)
This will leave me with a $100,000/month income, at which time I can expand to greater things (such as large media buys which start at about $50k per campaign). I’d also like to get into high volume mailing (5m/day), however can’t devote enough time to that venture, I’m already making a few bucks a day off of it , however time constraints leave me unable to dedicate enough time to it.
Furthermore, every 2-3 days I will update this blog with my results and share my success and failures.
